We're shaking things up here at Necks to Heaven. Over the next month (or so), the practice is moving to the front room, combining the office and treatment spaces into one large area. We'll be painting, redecorating, and generally breathing new life into the place---pictures to come!

It all depends on where your head's at. I mean literally--the position of your head.

The cranium, or "head bone", is the heaviest bone in the human body. And to that the weight of the evolved human brain (results may vary in your location), then balance it all on the narrowest part of the core. Beautiful to behold, useful for seeing great distances, but at times a pain in the neck. Looking downward for long periods, as one often does while using a lap top, requires the muscles of the neck to work overmuch stabilizing the big old heavy head. In time the scalenes group become hypertonic (a big word that means "tight", pretty much), often resulting in pain around the shoulder blade area and at the top of the shoulder, numbness and tingling down the arm to the elbow, or even as far as the ring and pinky fingers.

One way to tame the laptop beast is to use external mouse and keyboard, and elevate the screen to a neck-healthier position. You're the human overlord---make your machine slave come to you. It is only appropriate, what with the whole "sent back from the future to quietly wreak havoc" thing.
